At 3976m Volcan Acatenango is the 3rd highest volcano in Central America. Hiking it is a tough but amazing experience. We offer both the Acatenango Day Trip hike and the Acatenango Overnight Hike; choose the day trip if you are short on time, but if you have the time we highly recommend the overnight hike… it could well be something you will remember for the rest of your life! And rest assured, we make sure every detail is taken care of so you have a great time. We are probably biased but we think the Acatenango Volcano is one of the most beautiful volcanoes in Guatemala!
The Acatenango Overnight and Deluxe Camping tours with OX Expeditions both use the same campsite, follow the same itinerary and include the same guides, meals, equipment, and overall experience. The only real difference lies in the accommodation and price. On the Acatenango Overnight – Cabins, you stay in shared 5-person cabins with windows offering a direct view of Volcán Fuego.
On the Deluxe Camping tour, you stay in large glamping tents shared by up to 4 people, which do not have a direct view of Fuego. Aside from the sleeping setup and cost, all other aspects of the tour are the same.
