Everything back to normal!
Volcan Fuego entered a more active phase on the 19/11/2018 which lasted a little several hours but thankfully it has calmed down again now. Some of the villages on the flanks of the volcano were evacuated as a precautionary measure. The authorities are understandably and correctly on high alert after the tragic eruption of June 3rd.
We would like to thank everybody who has contacted us and asked if everything is OK. We are happy to report that here at OX we are all fine. The authorities have confirmed that there were no casualties as a result of this eruption. They have given us the green light to run our tours as normal.
At OX Expeditions the safety of our clients is our primary concern. We always co-ordinate with the local authorities, the local people living near the volcano and also carry out an independent risk assessment. If we have any doubt we never put our clients at risk. However please bear in mind that Volcan Fuego is active and it is impossible to predict with 100% certainty how it will act.
